Common questions about CTLC

What is CTLC?

The Chinese Theological Leadership Consortium is a historic and strategic alliance among five Chinese theological institutions in North America: Logos Evangelical Seminary, GETS Theological Seminary, International Theological Seminary, Christian Witness Theological Seminary, and International School of Christian Education.

Its mission is to advance excellence and innovation in Chinese-North American theological education through sustained, strategic collaboration among institutions committed to preparing transformative leaders for the church in North America and beyond.

Is CTLC managing the five partner seminaries?

No. Each partner seminary remains fully autonomous in its operation, student enrollment, and financial management. Courses contributed by a partner institution remain the academic property of the originating school, which retains responsibility for content, instruction, and grading.

Who may benefit from the programs of CTLC?
  • Current and prospective students
  • Pastors seeking to further develop their ministry effectiveness
  • Chinese-serving churches across North America
  • Pastors and church leaders
  • Partner institutions and the broader theological education community
How does CTLC benefit students?
  • Expanded access to collaborative academic programs
  • Scholarship support for students taking consortium courses
  • Seamless credit transfer among partner institutions
  • Flexible online and hybrid course delivery
  • Access to shared faculty expertise and future digital resources
Can I enroll in shared courses?

Students enrolled in a degree program at any member school may take courses at other partner seminaries, with credits transferable back to their home institution. Enrollment is subject to course requirements and space availability, and students must apply through their home college, which remains the degree-granting institution.

How is tuition handled?

All tuition payments are made through the student’s home school according to that institution’s own tuition rate and policies.

How can students apply the CTLC scholarship?

Significant resources have been dedicated to making theological education more affordable. Many of these scholarships can be applied to shared CTLC courses, though eligibility requirements may vary. Students are encouraged to review the scholarship policies of their home institution and apply for financial aid through the appropriate department.

What degrees and certificates are available through CTLC?

CTLC itself is not a degree-granting academic institution. Degrees and certificates continue to be awarded by the individual partner institutions, each of which maintains responsibility for academic integrity, accreditation standards, and graduation requirements.

How can I participate in the work of CTLC?

Prayer is foundational to everything CTLC does. Visitors are invited to stay connected through the website and through CTLC member institutions for updates and prayer requests.

Financial partnership is also welcome. Through October 31, 2027, a special 1:3 matching opportunity is available, up to US $1.7 million, significantly increasing the impact of every gift.
